Letter from Lew - March 2021

“… Of droughts and flooding rains…” – Dorothea Mackellar, “My Country”

After watching the television coverage of the devastation wrought by the recent flooding in NSW and Southern Queensland, we have found this to be yet another reminder of how fickle farming in Australia can be.

Many individuals impacted by the recent floods were still recovering from multiple years of drought only to be devasted by too much rain.

As is often typical with Australian weather, while some regions are flooded, others often not far away are celebrating that they have received enough rain to begin preparing for planting their winter crops for the first time in several years.

The resilience of the Australian farmer is something to be admired and one of the many reasons we are pleased to serve the agricultural industry. We would like to dedicate this monthly letter to those impacted by these recent floods - our thoughts and prayers go out to you.
