Celebrating 10 Years of Trimble RTX Technology

As one of the first companies to commercialise the then emerging GPS and GNSS technology in the 1980s, Trimble has led the development of GNSS solutions and redefined what’s possible for hundreds of thousands of farmers globally.

This year, we’re saying “happy 10th birthday” to Trimble’s RTX technology by taking a look back at how far Trimble RTX technology has come and how Trimble is pioneering agricultural RTX solutions for the future.

See how far they’ve come!

2011

Trimble introduces Trimble RTX (Real-Time eXtended) technology with CenterPoint RTX real-time correction service, providing quick convergence times and repeatable inch-level accuracy without the need for additional hardware, enabling farmers to cover more ground, more accurately with fewer interruptions.

2012

Trimble RTX tech hits new agricultural markets worldwide thanks to cellular delivery. xFill debuts, enabling seamless GNSS real-time corrections during temporary RTK and VRS Now coverage outages.

2013

Trimble RTX technology enters the geospatial market, implements xFill into agriculture, and creates broader accuracy options with the introduction of RangePoint RTX.

2016

FieldPoint RTX gives customers another real-time accuracy choice in the field. The new MB-Two module paves the way for the eventual on-road adoption of RTX.

2017

With a convergence time (<1 min) up to 98% faster than satellite-delivered competitors, the expansion of CenterPoint RTX Fast, combined with the addition of a fifth constellation, improves the performance and reach for RTX users globally.

2018

Trimble RTX technology hits historic highs by implementing the General Motors’ Super Cruise hands-free driving system and achieving 2cm horizontal accuracy for its broad range of positioning applications, redefining accuracy in the field and on the road.

2019

Trimble UAS1 enables precise positioning for unmanned aerial systems.

2020

With nearly 13 million km2 of total coverage, CenterPoint RTX is the largest high-performance GNSS correction network in the world.

2021

Trimble continues to lead through innovation, raising the bar for corrections services with solutions such as ProPoint positioning engine, improving CenterPoint RTX’s convergence speed by up to 75% and boosting coverage in difficult environments.

2022

Trimble RTX technology continues to break new ground for a range of industries, providing easier farming with precision worldwide.
