Forty years ago, the Australian construction and agriculture industries had limited access to technological solutions. Lew Brandon and the late Kevin Muspratt identified an opportunity to introduce new technologies to these industries.
With a combined keen interest in technology & electronics, exposure to surveying applications and knowledge of Electrical Engineering from JC University, the pair were approached about laser levelling for flood irrigation, which led them to create Brandon Muspratt Services (BMS) and ultimately form BMS Lasers.
BMS partnered with Spectra Physics Laserplane (Spectra) by becoming a distributor. Spectra were the pioneers of lasers and machine controls technologies that marked the early years of BMS. Increased customer adoption of the laser technologies and changes to the distribution of Spectra products, BMS became a multi-faceted operation distributing products across all of Australia.
In 2000 when Spectra was acquired by Trimble Navigation (the global leader in commercial GPS technologies) BMS gained access to a new range of technological solutions including GPS.
Today, the business operates under two major brands; BMS LaserSat servicing the construction industry while Vantage BMS is part of Trimble’s premier, global distribution network. The goal of Vantage is to provide the farmer with a single interface for the integration of hardware, software and services that are integral to precision farming. Priding themselves on creating customised solutions to solve individual problems to boost productivity and improve efficiency, Vantage BMS is dedicated to putting their customers first.
