The End of an Era

In 1979, the Australian construction and agriculture industries had limited access to technological solutions. The late Kevin (Mussy) Muspratt and I saw an opportunity to bring new technologies to these industries and made a move for it—and, thus, BMS was born. 

Over the last 45 years, we have proudly grown to be leaders in precision ag and construction technology, with a plethora of awards and achievements under our belts to show for it.

BMS has always focused on providing high-value support with the idea that once we create a positive culture around establishing exceptional customer support, the rest takes care of itself. 

This commitment to service has seen us grow to have branches all across the country and evolve over the years to incorporate the Spectra and Trimble (now PTx Trimble) product ranges.  

After almost 50 years of developing such a strong brand, I think it is now time to take the exciting step into retirement and pass Mussy and my legacy on to the next generation. 

And who better to continue our commitment to support than Vantage Australia—the new leaders of Vantage BMS. Vantage Australia is part of the Herga Group of Companies, another long-term Trimble distributor servicing the Geospatial, Building Construction and Engineering and Construction industries.

The handover of BMS to Vantage Australia is still being finalised so we will continue to provide the finer details as it rolls out. 

While I am sad to say goodbye to what has been such a cornerstone of my life, the time is right and I am glad to see it go to very capable hands. 

And, so, in what is the final Letter From Lew, I thank you all for your support over the years. To my team, I thank you all—BMS’ success is your success and could not have been achieved without you. 

To our customers, suppliers and supporters thank you for your consistent support over the many, many years. It has been a pleasure being your partner in precision ag since 1979.
